Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh |
Holy See of the intriguing Cao Dai sect in Tay Ninh, close to the Cambodian border. Attend the impressive noon time service. One-day excursion from Ho Chi Minh City. Combination with Cu Chi Tunnels recommended. |

World-famous heroic hiding place for Vietcong soldiers.
Half-day excursion from Ho Chi Minh City. |

Cantho's Floating Markets |
There are many floating markets in Vietnam, particularly around Cantho in the Mekong Delta. A boat tour to such a market is the perfect way to see the daily life on the river.
Two or three-day excursion from Ho Chi Minh City. |

Not a destination itself, but a highlight in most round trips. Gorgeous alternating views of hilly mountains and the turbulent ocean. North of Danang, on the way to/from Hue by road or train. |

Curious set of marble rocks with some magnificent caves inside. The view does not compare to Ba Na Hill Station (which you can see from the top) or Bach Ma National Park. Best visited on the way from Danang to Hoi An |

Former Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) |
Area particularly of interest to war veterans, little to see these days. These days fortunately a one-day excursion from Hue. |

Site of the My Lai massacre that took place in 1968, with a memorial and a small museum. Three hours from Hoi An. Best visited on the way to/from Nha Trang. |
